Achieving Your Goals Using the Law of Attraction

By Becki Noles

What is the Law of Attraction? Simply put, we attract whatever we choose to give our attention to…whether wanted or unwanted. It is like a magnet to the universe and the universe is your shopping mall. This may sound hokey to you, but do yourself a favor and read on, it just may make sense.

Whether or not we are trying to attract, we ARE doing so all the time. We attract what we think about. If we are thinking about a lack of something, we are attracting insufficiency. If we are thinking about something we love, we are attracting more of what we love and enjoy. I know it sounds too easy, but it is really this simple.

How Does it Work?

Step 1 — Ask: You must ask for what you want. How do you want your life to be? Write it down in the present tense as if it is really happening. And always state it in the positive. If you are ill, don’t say I am not going to be ill any more. If you say it this way, you are still having the negative thoughts of the illness in your head. It would be better to state how healthy you are and to think of your body as being a healthy body.

Step 2 — Believe: You must believe that what you are thinking truly will happen. This is much different than hoping for something to happen. Hope still has doubts. Have faith that what you want will truly happen. There is no room for second guessing either. You either want it or you don’t.

Step 3 — Receive: Be prepared to receive what you ask for. We have all heard the saying, “be careful what you wish for it just may happen.” I am here to tell you that if you follow these steps, it will happen! There is no time frame as to when your request will be answered, but it will.

Step 4 — Visualize: Seeing is believing. You need to use all of your senses here for this to work properly. You need to be able to see, hear, feel, smell, taste whatever it is that you want. If it is a new car, perhaps a Mercedes Benz, you need to be able to visualize yourself actually driving it. You need to be able to smell that new car scent when you sit down in it. You need to be able to feel the leather seats and to hear the humming of the engine. Experience it in your mind and you will experience it in real life. Studies have shown that the mind can not tell the difference between a deep visualization that you believe in and reality. It’s kind of like when you awake from a dream and you feel like what you dreamed really happened.

Step 5 — Be Grateful: It is imperative that you show gratitude for what you have in order to be able to receive more. You must also show your appreciation for what you have and let others know how much you appreciate them. Positive thoughts and actions bring about positive change. Remember, energy flows where attention goes. What is it that you want? Are you willing to work at it?

Great article! Thanks for posting. Step 5 is so important and I think it often gets overlooked. I have a bumper sticker on the back of my car that says “What are you grateful for?” Every time I load groceries or other things in the car it forces me to stop and think. Thanks for reminding us all.
